CNN segment on Yelling instead of spanking

After you get through the commercials, this segment has some great food for thought! The bottom line is spanking's a definite no-no. AS for yelling-How much do you do? They say mom's do more because the dad is not around as much and stress is on the mom's shoulders. Sound Familiar!!!

Great video

Just posted on Pages of Parenting Bookstore Facebook account a video on some old idea's that your moms and grandma's used to do-that really are a great idea and a good thing to get back into your routine. I'm not going as far to say pearls and all- just these ideas on the video are a great addition. If you are doing them now- a big pat on the back

Nurture Shock

FYI. There is a new book out called Nurture Shock. You can see it on the store website www.pagesofparenting.com. The authors are going to be on all of the talk shows and last week NPR had a discussion on the book. Based on some interesting research- some of the content is any eye opener-I do have copies in the store also. They say this will change the way parenting is looked at today. One point they made was that parents today praise to much. They go on the show the consequences of that action. I've told many people about the study they published. I can see incorporating some of their ideas with what you already have in place-As the story goes one step at a time.
